Purpose:

1. To stimulate the interest of children in reading    

2. To help a better Parent-Child Relationship by parent-child reading (reading stories to your children).

3. To establish children’s good reading habits

Targets: Local non-profit-making kindergartens / kindergarten-cum-child care centres

 

Presentation on Gift Book Scheme

“Reading Reward·Reading Star” Program and “Reading Reward—Reading FUN”

The Gift Book Scheme has been completed in early November 2022 . A total of 110 kindergartens in Hong Kong have received books, benefiting about 20,000 students.

The following are four of the kindergartens that received the books.

“Reading Reward Reading FUN” Extended activities

      The HKCRA has designed extensive activities for participating Kindergartens, including ” Book Bingo ” and “Reading with Children” parent-child reading research to stimulate the interest of children in reading and promote parent-child reading.

Extended Activity 1: ” Book Bingo Reading Challenge

-” Book Bingo Reading Challenge “; complete the Bingo board with a row across, a column down, or a diagonal in the bingo board.

-Student must complete and submit the Bingo board to apply for digital certificate.

 

 

 

 

 

Extended Activity 2: “reading with children” parent-child reading research study

-Encourage the parent-child reading (reading stories to your children).

-Use our “story telling video” to promote the skills of parent-child reading.
